Is safe beauty really a thing?

It is certainly a current beauty industry buzz word. Clean beauty started a few years ago which made consumers aware of what they were using on themselves everyday; causing brands to re-think their mission to attract the health conscious customer. 

Right now Consumers are more aware than ever of how often we touch our faces, and apply topical products. Consumers are making sure ingredients are safe and do not cause unwanted harm to the body. 

We all know that “safe” means free from harm, but the definition of “safe” does not necessarily apply to beauty products. All products are created, formulated and made very differently. 

All products being used on our bodies should be safe and no one would argue this. We know that carcinogens can cause illness, but did you know that beauty companies do not have to specifically state which ingredients on their products are known carcinogens? Cosmetic regulations vary over the world.

As we still see these words clean, natural, and safe it’s important to know the brands that you’re supporting.
